There is a realness in the stillness … or at least there needs to be.. Some sojourners use a term, “Your Secret Place”. We all need such a place. I call mine,
“The Other Side of the Trees”.
Find it. Make it a priority. And it takes some effort to get out there. I have to be intentional about it. Otherwise, I will stay in the midst of the madness. True, we cannot live there, 24/7. Nor are we are meant to. The world is unavoidable; and not a terrible place at times, in some places as opposed to others. Who we live with, and love with, and like with, plays into all that. Fortunately, there are some books and resources that provide some guidance and directions to places like the Other Side of the Trees: Last Child In the Woods, Walden; and many others. So, the Other Side of the Trees (OST) comes to you in the form of a blog, and hopefully the OST goes beyond that: a reminderto be attentive to that which is good, and that which connects with self-care. I am looking forward to meeting you. Say hello when you drop by. I might be out back chopping some wood. Or I might be running the snow blower (I HOPE NOT!) And it would be great to visit you in your neck of the woods. Just leave your cyber address.
