A handheld sander (electric) moves across the old wood, the belt taking off a layer, and dust is what’s left. Never knew what was there, beneath the old wood. Or … I probably did know, but I forgot; and if I did know what was there, beneath the old wood, I did not know how beautiful it is. It takes some work (an understatement). Something is coming, and it is a stain that will protect the wood, for a while. The bigger picture, I forget that if I don’t do the work, I won’t see what is underneath, the beautiful wood.
Friday night … my daughter and I are going to a “Father – Daughter” dance, a semi-formal affair. My little girl is not so little anymore. And she can dance. Me, I’m not so sure. Fortunately, I have some special shoes, that when I put them on … and I rarely put them on … these shoes make my feet “HAPPY FEET”.
Well, that’s the short-and-skinny of it, from the Other Side of the Trees.
